ACLU-NJ DATA VISUALIZATION

I created a short-form data visualization video for ACLU–NJ that transformed complex civic data into an accessible, mobile-first narrative for social media. The goal was to communicate civil injustice data in a clear, emotionally grounded way tailored to younger audiences who consume information through short-form content.

Objective

• Simplify a dense dataset into a digestible, human-focused story.
• Use motion graphics, pacing, and perspective to guide viewers through the data without overwhelming them.

Tools

• Adobe Illustrator, Adobe After Effects

Timeline

• April 2025 - June 2025 (2½ months)

Deliverables

• Motion Design
• Data Interpretation
• Typography & Layout

Design Analytics / Impact

• Conducted targeted research to distill key data points into a clear, sectioned bar-chart visualization showing disparities among white, Black, and Hispanic drivers.
• Led the full production process and crafted a final video that became a high-engagement Instagram post for ACLU–NJ’s campaign against non-safety traffic stops.
• Helped strengthen audience understanding of systemic disparities through motion-led storytelling.
